Add a flower strip or flower area to an existing set-aside area and receive an additional payment rate for it. Requires a valid ÖR 1a area on the same farm.

Establish a flower strip or flower area within your permanent crops, such as traditional orchards, vineyards or orchard land. This creates additional habitat for insects.

Leave old-grass strips standing on your permanent grassland, creating refuge areas for insects and small animals. The payment is staggered by the share of land involved.

200 to 1,000 euro per hectare
Grow a diverse crop rotation with at least five main crop types on your arable land. No single crop may dominate too heavily.

Structure your land with woody strips, combining farming with agroforestry. The strips remain a permanent part of the land.

Manage all of your eligible permanent grassland extensively: limited livestock density, no plant protection products and no ploughing. The amount of fertilizer used is capped.

Demonstrate at least four recognized indicator species on species-rich permanent grassland and secure the payment. The verification procedure depends on your federal state.

Fully forgo chemical-synthetic plant protection products on arable land or in permanent crops. The payment rate depends on the crop grown.

Manage your land within a Natura 2000 site without additional drainage or filling. This helps preserve the area's protected status.

Eco-schemes are voluntary environmental and climate measures under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Eligible participation may result in an additional payment per hectare on top of the basic payment.
GAP-Optimizer currently checks all ten German eco-schemes for claim year 2026, including the federal-state-specific requirements for ÖR 5.

The calculator checks one specific, recorded application. The Optimizer compares several permissible plans based on your priorities. The decision remains yours.
GAP-Optimizer is a usable product, not a pilot version. Because the contents of ordinary user accounts are not reviewed by the operator for data-protection reasons, farms and advisers may voluntarily provide a real-world, preferably anonymized case for professional quality assurance.
For accepted and sufficiently complete real-world datasets, use of GAP-Optimizer stays free of charge for the first chargeable application year once pricing starts in 2028. Until then, use is free for everyone anyway.
